Backcountry Pizza and Tap House
I'm drinking Moose Drool, I know, are you kidding me! 50 draft beers on tap but nothing jump out at me :)
Avery Brewing "Sisterhood of the Hops"
Sisterhood of the Hops is the inspiration of bartender, Caitlyn Vestal. This was my first time for this event and didn't know what to expect. Last night there were around 12 or more women and two men in attendance for this beer and "bites" pairing, 4 beers with 4 appetizer. The food and beer were paired well due to the help of Bob Sargent who owns Savory Cuisines Catering across the alley from Avery.
I enjoyed the event and I met a wonderful young woman, Amy who is a home brewer and it was her first time at the Sisterhood of Hops.
Next month will be a fundraiser, though I'm not sure what charity.

Backcountry Pizza and Tap House
We went for happy hour at Backcountry Pizza and Tap House last Friday where pints and appetizers are a dollar off normal price. I couldn't decide what I want to drink so I had got a taster of two beers I never had before, Leifman's Fruitesse which is a blend of cherry, bilberry, elderberry, strawberry, and raspberry and Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura, a sour stout. I wasn't in the mood for either so on a whim I blend what was left in the taster glass together and it was delicious! I know, many of you are cringing at the thought of blending beers. But it worked and the flavors together were so complex that I'd do it again.

Upslope Brewery
I'm going through Upslope Brewing withdrawals! It's one of my favorite breweries and they are closed during their expansion. For those who don't know, Upslope leased the next unit to the brewery and is expanding the taproom. I believe for their reopening, they will be tapping special brews and on a couple of Saturdays have a live music. But I have to wait until April 26 when they reopen, they're changing the taproom hours to Tues - Sat, 2pm-8pm.

Avery Brewing, Sour Ale Fest tickets sold out!
Yesterday I get an email from an employee at Avery, Holly who tells us the Sour Ale Fest tickets were sold out online and there wasn't many left at the taproom. So Larry and I scurry over to the Avery taproom and find out there was only around 10 tickets left. Around that time a friend, Mitch Smith, text us about the tickets almost selling out and to notify another friend, Max Wolsky about the situation.
So we buy 2 tickets, have lunch then I remember about Max, text him and he text back in astonishment that the tickets were almost sold out. He ask it a ticket can be saved for him cause he's on his way to the taproom. In short, he made it and was able to buy 1 ticket.
The Sour Ale Fest tickets sold out online in 19 minutes! I didn't think that many people drank sour ales. Over three hundred tickets were sold online and over 80 tickets at the taproom. We were told that there was a line waiting for the taproom to open yesterday.
The old adage of You Snooze, You Lose, is so true, especially with a limited amount of tickets.
I'm want to thank Holly for emailing us, because we were like Max thinking we could buy the tickets anytime during the day.
